The 28th China (Guangzhou) International Building Decoration Fair – Guangzhou Building Expo – runs July 8–11, 2026. One of the world’s largest building and home decoration events. Tens of thousands of professionals attend. This guide covers hours, transport, hotels, visas, and tips.

Dates & Hours

Four days. Guangzhou in July: warm, humid. Dress light, bring water.

• July 8 (Wed): 09:30–18:00 – opening, keynotes.
• July 9 (Thu): 09:30–18:00 – full day.
• July 10 (Fri): 09:30–18:00 – full day.
• July 11 (Sat): 09:30–16:00 – final day, early close for teardown.

Most Pazhou fairs follow this. Check official site before travel for changes. Arrive early each morning – especially day one – to avoid crowds.

Strategy: First hour of each day = top priority exhibitors. By midday, halls are packed. Detailed talks become hard.

Getting to Pazhou Complex

Address: No. 380 Yuejiang Zhong Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. Public transport is efficient.

Metro (best)

Line 8 direct. Exits:

• Area A: Xingangdong Station (Line 8), Exit A
• Area B: Pazhou Station (Line 8), Exit A or B
• Area C: Pazhou Station (Line 8), Exit C – then 300m west

Line 11 also stops at Pazhou Station. Alternative route.

From Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN)

Line 3 to Kecun → transfer to Line 8 toward Pazhou/Xingangdong. Faster: intercity railway airport → Pazhou Station, ~30 min. Taxi: 45–50 min depending on traffic.

From Guangzhou South Railway Station

Line 2 to Changgang → transfer to Line 8 toward Pazhou/Xingangdong. Metro ~50 min. Taxi: ~24 km, ~CNY 70.

From Guangzhou East Railway Station

Line 11 direct to Pazhou Station. No transfers.

Taxi / ride-hailing

Taxis widely available. Tell driver: “Please take me to the Canton Fair Complex Pazhou Exhibition Halls” (请带我去广交会展馆琶洲展馆). Fare: downtown ~CNY 30–50, airport ~CNY 150.

Traffic heavy during expo. Allow extra time if taking taxi, especially rush hours.

Hotels Near Pazhou – Stay & Booking

Range from luxury to budget. Occupancy very high during expo weeks. Book early.

Recommended hotels

The Westin Pazhou – inside the complex, 3rd floor direct access to halls. Most convenient.

Shangri-La Guangzhou – ~700m walk, or 5 min walk to Pazhou Station. 5-star.

Pazhou Poya International Hotel – ~1 km, free shuttle during fair.

Mehood Lestie Hotel – ~2 km, free shuttle.

Booking advice

Book at least 2–3 months ahead. Many hotels offer free shuttles during expo – confirm when booking. Mid‑budget: look along Line 8. Any hotel within walking distance of a Line 8 station gives easy venue access.

As of 2026, citizens of 50 countries – France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Japan, South Korea, UK, Canada, US – get visa‑free entry for business (including exhibitions). Stay up to 30 days. Passport must remain valid.

Important: visa‑free covers conferences & exhibitions, not work, study, or news reporting. Verify eligibility at local Chinese embassy/consulate website before departure.

Documents to carry (even if visa‑free)

• Expo registration confirmation or invitation letter copy
• Round‑trip flight itinerary
• Hotel booking confirmation

Non‑waiver countries need tourist visa (L) or business visa (M). Apply 4–6 weeks before departure.
